Hood Warfare 2 No Audio: Output Device Checks

What the Patch Says

The Hood Warfare 2 1.0.1.4 announcement explicitly directs players with missing sound to settings and an audio output device. It does not identify an Audio tab, an Apply button, a blank default selector or a main-menu-only limitation. Those interface details should not be treated as verified instructions. [S04]

Check the Game Version

Check the version shown at the bottom right of the Hood Warfare 2 menu. The same announcement says fully exiting and reopening Steam may be needed to receive 1.0.1.4. The patch timeline preserves the developer’s strings and event times; we have not independently tested the fix on a Windows machine. [S04]

Select the Intended Output Device

Open the Hood Warfare 2 settings available in your installed build and select the intended audio output device, following the developer’s direction. Before changing it, note your current choice so it can be restored. Then listen for game sound in the same situation that was previously silent. The before-and-after comparison is an editorial check, not a guaranteed fix. [S04]

If Audio Still Does Not Work

If Hood Warfare 2 remains silent, record the version, chosen output and whether other sound is affected. Do not infer a single root cause from those observations. If you also suspect missing or damaged game files, Steam provides a general integrity check; it does not guarantee an audio repair. [S20]

Keep changes reversible and avoid adding launch parameters, registry edits or unofficial tools without evidence. For persistent Hood Warfare 2 audio errors, follow the support and symptom route with redacted observations rather than a guessed diagnosis.

Game Audio Versus Voice Chat

Game sound is output; the microphone is input. If you can hear Hood Warfare 2 but other players cannot hear you, start with voice preferences and T push-to-talk. If both fail, record the results separately. A voice-chat update does not prove the cause of silent effects or music. [S05]
